About Us

Birch Development, Inc was established in 2005 by former PGA TOUR player Lee Porter. Birch Development's mission is to develop both for sale and for lease products that exceed the quality and character of the competition, while providing exemplary housing and business opportunities for the homeowners and tenants in it's developments.

Mr. Porter has been, predominately, a lifelong resident of Greensboro and holds a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in accounting from Guilford College. He holds a NC Real Estate Broker's License has been an active real estate investor since 1994. Additionally, Mr. Porter earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, one of the highest levels of achievement in real estate, in 2009. As a member of the the Board of Directors for both TREBIC (Triad Real Estate Builders Industry Coalition) and the Realtors Commercial Alliance, Mr. Porter stays in constant contact with the Triad real estate market and the many factors that influence the market.

Prior to full time participation in real estate, Mr. Porter has traveled to all 50 states and 42 countries while competing as a professional golfer for 16 years, including 6 years as an exempt member of the PGA TOUR. Mr. Porter also holds an unlimited NC General Contractors License.
